SUMMARY:Exhibition: Planar Shifts
DESCRIPTION:Announcing Planar Shifts! Open daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM\nThis April\, MBACC artists will be on view at Fort Point Art’s Gallery at Atlantic Wharf.\nThis exhibit\, organized by MBACC Curator in Residence Shana Dumont Garr\, features work by 12 MBACC Resident Artists: : Hillary Babick\, Terry Boutelle\, Nicole de Lisle\, Susan Denniston\, Amos and Ronni Eisenberg\, Angela Fiori\, Remmi Franklin\, Marilyn Mase\, Elizabeth Slayton\, Jo Soshnick\, and Bryan Taylor.\nWhether it is a sheet of paper\, a canvas\, or a table on which parts are sculpted\, a plane is a place where creativity begins. Pictorial planes support\, present\, and participate in what artists make. The plane might fall away thanks to illusionistic shadows\, or provoke viewers by sharing hints of how a work of art was made. In this exhibition featuring twelve artists\, the collages\, drawings\, mosaics\, paintings\, prints\, and sculptures each creatively refer to the pictorial plane. By composing parts into a new whole\, such as in collages and mosaics\, or thoughtfully disassembling unified images and ideas with creatively-cropped paintings\, the art engages the potential for shifting perspectives.

He has live and session experience working with Sam Greenfield\, Eric Marienthal\, Darren Barrett\, and many other artists in a wide spread of genres. Learn more on their website linked HERE! \nMia McIntosh\nMia McIntosh has been playing music and singing for as long as she can remember. She got her start at age 3 after playing around on the family keyboard in her home in Maryland. Piano lessons came at age 5\, and she began writing her own songs not long after. After seeing a classmate use GarageBand in school\, she downloaded the iPhone version\, and soon she was not only writing songs but producing them as well. DESCRIPTION:Summer in the City returns to Atlantic Wharf!\nAll summer long\, take an evening break in Waterfront Plaza while enjoying the complimentary performances from Berklee College of Music’s talented students. Concerts run June 2nd through August 25th and are brought to us by Boston’s premier institute of music and the performing arts. \nGrab a blanket\, order lunch from one of the Wharf’s restaurants and enjoy the diverse musical stylings of the Berklee Summer in the City performers. Artists take the stage on select Tuesdays from 12-1:30 PM! \nEvent is weather dependent. Learn more on their website linked HERE! \nOwen Reinders\nOwen Reinders is a bassist\, arranger\, and composer hailing from Madison\, Wisconsin. Influenced by the likes of the RH Factor\, Derrick Hodge\, and Butcher Brown\, his music is a blend of jazz\, funk\, and rock. His passion for music was sparked when he started playing piano at age 8\, and electric bass at age 13. DESCRIPTION:Discover the sounds of the musical family at our interactive instrument petting zoo.\nTry a variety of instruments and join a guided sing-and play-along.\nJoin us in the Fort Point Room at Atlantic Wharf for a morning of early childhood music and movement! Geared for ages 0-8\, Music Therapists from the Community Music Center of Boston will be leading participants in hands-on musical activities\, showcasing an instrument petting zoo\, and crafting handheld musical instruments together with your little ones. CMCB staff will also be present if you have questions or want to learn more about their early childhood programming. \nThis event is free to attend and accessible to all\n  \n\n\nAgenda\nArrival & Open Play: 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM\nFamilies arrive. Children are invited to explore the instrument petting zoo or participate in DIY instrument-making stations. \nMusic & Movement Session: 10:30 AM – 11:15 AM\nInteractive music and movement session led by a music therapist\, featuring songs\, rhythm activities\, and guided play. \nContinued Exploration: 11:15 AM – 12:00 PM\nOpen play resumes with access to the instrument petting zoo and DIY instrument-making stations.
