Canstruction Boston 2025

Cool things made from cans!

Canstruction is a unique nonprofit organization that holds annual design-build competitions to construct unique, colossal structures made entirely from canned goods.

Founded in 1992, Canstruction’s mission is to highlight the issue of hunger and food insecurity across communities, collect food for distribution to thousands, and to showcase the creativity of the design industry.

Canstruction Boston, an annual charity event that combines design, creativity, and social responsibility, has become a beloved tradition in the A/E/C industry since its inception in 1995.

The event centers around the construction of impressive sculptures made entirely from canned food, which are then displayed and later donated to local food banks.

The structures are built by teams of architects, engineers, designers, and students, showcasing their skills in service of a truly worthy cause. All proceeds from the event, and the canned goods themselves, have benefited the Merrimack Valley Food Bank since 2011. This year’s theme is Games and structures will be built on Saturday, October 4th in Waterfront Square at Atlantic Wharf.

Structures will remain in tact and available for public viewing through October 25th.
